Joint Replacement

Degenerative conditions including arthritis, overuse, and injuries may require joint replacement surgery to replace shoulder surfaces that have worn down, causing unbearable pain and restricted movement. Because of their ability to move in so many more directions that other joints, shoulders are vulnerable to wear and tear conditions, especially in athletes, and may need repaired.

Quality of life is drastically improved with joint replacement surgery because it allows for greater flexibility and range of motion in the joint while reducing your pain or eliminating it altogether. Joint replacement patients who were once limited to partial movement find themselves able to return to work and play, oftentimes with better range of motion. For pitchers and other athletes that use repetitive motions of their upper extremities, this can significantly enhance their game.

We perform arthroscopy and other minimally invasive surgeries whenever possible for joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs, and other conditions of the shoulder and elbow. Our patients enjoy greater satisfaction with our methods because they reduce the risk of post-surgical pain and infection while minimizing downtown.

During surgery, we use state-of-the-art equipment to remove and replace damaged portions of the affected area, allowing you to experience a full range of motion without pain so you can return to work and your active lifestyle sooner.
