Dr. Matthew Pigott joined Springfield Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute in 2019 as a hip and knee replacement specialist. He is an Ohio native and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio State studying medical technologies. Dr. Pigott obtained his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh, and he completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Michigan. He pursued additional training in hip and knee joint replacement at Scripps Green Hospital in La Jolla, California.

Dr. Pigott is board-eligible in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He also maintains active membership in the Ohio State Medical Association..

Dr. Pigott has received several grants for his research in joint reconstruction, and he has been published in the American Society for Testing Materials Journal and the Journal of Surgical Orthopaedic Advances. He practices general orthopaedics and has specialization in primary and revision hip and knee replacement.

He enjoys Ohio State athletics, biking, and hiking, as well as playing the drums and bass guitar.
