Drs. Ian M. Thompson and David B. Galluch are Board Certified orthopaedic surgeons in Springfield, Ohio who specialize in providing personalized, comprehensive treatment to patients with orthopaedic concerns. 

Ian M. Thompson, MD, MS, FAAOS

Dr. Ian M. Thompson is an experienced, Board Certified orthopaedic surgeon who, in addition to all other aspects of sports medicine, specializes in conditions of the knee and shoulder.

Dr. Thompson completed his sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship in Taos, New Mexico. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Medical Education and Research Center through Michigan State University. He received his medical education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

He has served as team doctor for the University of New Mexico Highland and a manuscript reviewer for the Foot and Ankle International Journal.

He currently serves as the team doctor for Urbana University and Springfield High School.  He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons,  is an active member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopic Association of North America, the Ohio State Medical Association and the Clark County Medical Society.

Dr. Thompson resides in Springfield with his wife Lori and their four children, Abigail, Claire, Charlie and Joey.  He enjoys boating, swimming, snow skiing and spending time with friends and family.

David B. Galluch, MD

Dr David Galluch

Dr. David B. Galluch is an experienced, board certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in conditions of the hip, knee and shoulder as well as all aspects of sports medicine.

Dr. Galluch completed his sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship at The Ohio State University.  He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency  at the Medical Education and Research Center through Michigan State University.  He received his medical education from the Medical University of Ohio in Toledo, Ohio and his undergraduate degree in Psychology  from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

He currently serves as the team doctor for Urbana University, Shawnee High School and Northwestern High School.

Dr. Galluch has been published in Foot and Ankle International, the American Journal of Orthopaedics and the Journal of Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research. Dr. Galluch is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons,  the Ohio State Medical Association and the Clark County Medical Society.

Dr. Galluch resides in Springfield with his wife Joy and their four children, Megan, Mia, Ian and Tyler.  He enjoys racquetball, running, swimming, golf, snow skiing and spending time with his family.

Cliff Fawcett, MSN, FNP, ATC

Cliff Fawcett

Cliff is a welcome addition to our practice and brings with him extensive experience and knowledge.  He comes to Springfield Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute from Booth, Bartolozzi, Balderston Orthopaedics at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA., where, in addition to his clinical duties with the practice, Cliff served as the director of sports medicine fellowship education and was the program director for the Philadelphia Sports Medicine Congress.

During his time in Philadelphia, he served on the medical staff of the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, Phantoms and Kixx. Cliff also served on the medical staff for the X-Games and Women’s World Cup Soccer. He has lectured extensively on various topics in sports medicine.

Cliff began his sports medicine career locally where he served as assistant athletic trainer at Wittenberg University and taught in the sports medicine program at Marietta College.

He obtained his Bachelor's degree in nursing from Cedarville University, his Master's degree in Sports Medicine from the University of Virginia and his Master's of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Delaware.  He is licensed as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and has his Athletic Trainer Certification from the National Athletic Trainers Association.

As a nurse practitioner, Cliff focuses on non-operative treatment of orthopaedic conditions and sports injuries. His philosophy is to take care of patients the way he would take care of his family. He recognizes that many patients desire the same aggressive and expeditious treatment as athletes. His desire is to educate his patients so that they are able to make the best choices for themselves.

Cliff resides in Cedarville with his wife Patti and their three children, Andrew, Ben and Madelyn.  He enjoys NASCAR,  kayaking and spending time with his family.

 

Dr. Thompson and Dr. Galluch are investors in Ohio Valley Medical Center.  At times they refer patients to Ohio Valley Medical Center in connection with their care and treatment.
